The most stressful part at the hospital was before surgery when she couldn't have food or drink. She just kept yelling at us that she wanted her mook and a snack NOW! It was awful. The anesthesiologist was really nice and gave her some loopy drugs that took the stress away from all of us I think. She was happy to go with him when he took off to surgery-- and that is totally not like her. They took her back around 8:15am and came and got us around 10:30am. Shortly after that we were in her room for the day. She slept until dinner time when she got up to see her visitors-- Grandma and Nicole--......but she didn't last long before she passed out again and slept until the next morning (which was awesome because I was exhausted!)
Recovery hasn't been that bad. I was expecting worse considering her personality! I'd have to say she was the most crabby from being doped up for a few days straight. She was pretty much out of it and I don't think she was happy about it! We have slowly weaned her off of the narcotics and she's doing well. Still taking them at night, but on regular Tylenol & Motrin during the day. She's actually going back to school tomorrow! Yeah! Her throat definitely hurts....she hasn't eaten a whole lot in the past week and she's looking pretty thin. I'm hoping her appetite returns soon, she needs a little more weight on her!
Anyway, thank you all for the well wishes, prayers, gifts and cards. We really appreciate everything! And Aubrey loves all of her surgery goodies!
